A.C.E ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND | VINYL ALBUM RE-DESIGN

Fall 2019 | Inspired by Korean-Pop group A.C.E’s album Adventures in Wonderland, a new vinyl album design was re-imagined. This systems-based design project includes a 10” X 10” Gatefold vinyl/sleeve, a heart shaped vinyl with label, Instagram & Spotify content, + bonus group-member photo cards.

In December 2019, I was able to meet the members of A.C.E in Miami & had the chance to share my outcome with them.

In March 2020, this project was reviewed by voice actor Greg Cipes and Fall Out Boy’s bassist Pete Wentz on Noise Nest Network’s first The Big Shot live stream.

PHYSICAL ALBUMS + CARDS

The Camellia flower draws from the relationship between growth + destiny A.C.E creates in their lyrics. These flowers are often related to the sentiment, “my destiny is in your hands”, which highlights A.C.E’s relationship with their fans. The heart-shaped record relates back to the ace of hearts illustration on the cover, as well as alludes to the apparent Alice in Wonderland concept from the title.

Something unique to physical K-Pop albums is that they each come with one or more group-member photo cards, at random. It’s a surprise that most fans look forward to when receiving these albums, so a set was created to maintain that consistency.

MEETING A.C.E

Meeting A.C.E in Miami before the concert.

In December 2019, A.C.E performed in Miami. Before the show, I attended a meet & greet and was able to show A.C.E my album re-design as well as have them autograph it. This project is proof that music truly transcends all language barriers and can connect people from all over the world.
