CONNECTION | CARD GAME
Fall 2019 | Connection is a card-based, cooperative trivia challenge where players answer design history-related questions about subway systems around the globe. Once question & answer cards are correctly paired, players flip the cards over to reveal a map of subway route connections. Research for this game can be broken down into four parts: designers, typefaces in-use, design problems and solutions within subway systems, and other miscellaneous information related to the topic.
FINAL OUTCOME
The design of this card game is clean and allows for easy readability to mirror that of subway system signage. The categories are clearly labeled with bright colors that can easily be told apart, similar to a subway route map. The instruction booklet resembles a ticket stub. The box is illustrated with subway car imagery so that when users push the box out, it will have the feel of a subway car travelling into or out of a subway station. This movement is further explored in an Instagram motion graphic for the game.
